I feel like one of the best ways to get book recommendations you’ll enjoy and create an algorithm that suits your interests is to find your favorite book creator. I have a variety of people to recommend who are funny, and witty, and provide the most diverse suggestions for novels.

1) @bewareofpity (Malissa) on TikTok

Malissa’s account is one of the best to check out if you’re willing to expand your mind and taste. She has the special ability to recommend and review books from all genres and cultural backgrounds. For instance, I’ve explored Korean, French, and English literature all because of her! Malissa brings books to the table that aren’t mainstream at all and are unique in their themes and messages. I’ve discovered literature with the most beautiful prose, expansive vocabulary, and well-developed characters thanks to her, so it’s an account that I will forever vouch for.

2) @bradylockerby on TikTok

Brady’s page is full of fun and memorable books that aren’t widely broadcast. She recommends thrillers that keep you on the edge of your seat, heartwarming summer reads, and engaging yet informative historical fiction. I found one of my favorite authors, Kristin Hannah, because of her, and she’s gotten me out of a reading slump more times than I can count. Brady has a book club, films Day in My Life videos, and regularly shares her TBR list and recent reads. Her content is super lively and covers all the fun aspects of being a book lover. If you’re looking for a variety of reads that are fast-paced, binge-worthy, and span multiple genres, you should check her out!

3) @whatshalesreading (Haley) on TikTok

I’m not lying when I say that out of all the accounts I follow, Haley is by far my favorite. Her personality is so bubbly, and she’s super witty and sweet, which makes her videos incredibly enjoyable. I first found Haley through a video where she recommended books to make you smarter and educate yourself, and not a single one of her suggestions has let me down. I’ve bought books that have taught me countless lessons and exposed me to different parts of the world—something I wouldn’t have experienced otherwise. Nonfiction has become so much more appealing because of her special talent for showcasing endlessly fascinating books. She creates content on a variety of topics, like seasonal reads, hidden book gems, and recommendations tailored to your unique preferences. You’ll love every bit of what she talks about!
