There are some books filled with beautiful prose, imagery, and diction. And then some are the most atmospheric and enthralling novels to listen to. Listening to audiobooks can be a whole different experience. It’s such a fun way to engage with literature and become totally immersed in a new world. Here is a list of a few novels people reported as exceptionally interesting and fun to listen to! 


1) Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir


It’s a Sci-Fi novel that is incredibly imaginative and engaging. The scientific components are incredibly well-researched. The story follows Ryland Grace, an astronaut who wakes up alone on a spaceship, the Hail Mary, with no memory of his mission. He soon discovers that Earth is facing an extinction-level threat from a mysterious microorganism called Astrophage, which is draining the sun's energy. He soon learns that his main mission is to save humanity, and the book follows his interstellar journey filled with exploration, discovery, and the survival fight. Listen to this one when you get a chance! 



2) Red Rising by Pierce Brown 


This is a dystopian science fiction novel set in a future society divided by a rigid caste system based on colors. The protagonist, Darrow, is a "Red,” a lowly worker who mines helium-3 on Mars to support the elite "Golds." After a tragic personal loss and discovering the truth about his people's oppression, Darrow is driven by revenge and a desire for change. The audiobook is a great way to immerse yourself in the story further and feel connected to the characters. It’s a dialogue-heavy book, so listening to the narration really captures the essence of the story. It’ll keep you hooked till the very end!



3) Powerless by Lauren Roberts


Powerless is a forbidden romance story taking place in a fantasy world where having a magical power makes you one of the Elites, and being completely ordinary leaves you hunted. Paedyn is a completely ordinary girl who has adapted to her powerless life in the slums. But when her path crosses with the crown prince, things become complicated. This story is such a page-turner and is so addicting to read, and the audiobook adds a level of entertainment and intrigue that is so worth the read.



4) The Women by Kristin Hannah


The Women by Kristin Hannah is an emotional read that’ll hit you straight in the heart. It takes place during the Vietnam War, and it covers the extraordinary efforts of the women in healthcare who took care of so many. The novel shows their resilience, their sacrifices, and pain. The book follows the main character, Frankie, and we follow her personal journey, development, and maturing as she takes on a massively important role as a nurse on the frontlines.
